This medieval French poem is a dream allegory based on the courtly love tradition. Lorris used his dreams in writing The Romance of the Rose as I did in writing my novel.

The Blood Remembers is based on the medieval quest of the hero—or heroine. Rose Kirkland is driven to take action, to go beyond her limits to try to attempt the impossible.
